PQ-N2 series planetary ball mills may be used for mixing, homogenizing, fine grinding, mechanical alloying, cell disruption, small-volume high-tech material production, and colloidal grinding. They are designed as wet or dry milling tools for research samples with high efficiency and low noise, and vacuum jars may be used to process samples in a vacuum environment.

PQ-N2 planetary ball mills have four grinding stations arranged on the sun wheel of the planetary ball mill. When the sun wheel rotates, the grinding balls inside the jars are subjected to superimposed rotational movements known as Coriolis forces. The speed difference between the grinding balls and jars creates frictional and impact forces that release high dynamic energies, with final granularity as small as 0.1 micron.

A timer controls running time from 1 to 999 minutes and also controls jar direction of rotation and intervals. Across notes that different grinding jar and grinding media materials are available depending on the application.

Important

Across notes that particle-size results depend on material, grinding time, speed, and the grinding jar and milling ball combination. For vacuum operation, non-stainless jars require stainless steel vacuum jackets, and vacuum jars or jackets require a separately sold vacuum pump.
