20KW Hi-Frequency Split Induction Heater 50-250KHz

20KW Hi-Frequency Split Induction Heater 50-250KHz

Note: This model is 460-480 volt three phase.

IHG series 100 kHz to 1100 kHz high frequency induction heaters are among the latest products developed by Across International. They can quickly heat most metals that other frequencies cannot heat efficiently, like aluminum and metal powders. They can also heat parts from a distance, making them ideal for fine steel wire annealing, small precision shaft quenching, hard alloy saw blade brazing, and metal powder melting.

Induction heating does not involve the external application of heat but rather the internal generation of heat in the workpiece itself. This process reduces long heating periods and enables localized, precisely timed heat input with high efficiency.

The basic principles of induction heating have been applied in manufacturing since the 1920s. In a typical setup, a solid-state RF power supply sends AC current through a copper coil, and the part to be heated becomes the short-circuit secondary inside the magnetic field. Eddy currents are induced within the part and generate precise, localized heat without direct contact between the part and the coil.

Safety Features

  • Overvoltage protection: machine shuts down when input voltage exceeds 245V and resets automatically when voltage returns to normal.
  • Overheat protection: if the IGBT heat sink exceeds 55C, the machine shuts down until cooling conditions improve.
  • Overcurrent and malfunction protections: machine shuts down if components overheat, interfering signals are detected, work pieces short against induction coils, machine failure occurs, coils touch each other, input voltage is too low, or water pressure drops below 29 PSI.

Important

  • Always wear protective gear and goggles when operating the machine.
  • Crucibles must remain covered during operation.
  • Do not run no-load operation for long periods.
  • Circulating water must be pure, clean, and below 45C.
  • The machine must be properly grounded at all times.
  • Thread tape or similar material is prohibited during induction-coil installation.

Main Induction Furnace Specifications and Melting Capacity

The table below outlines the maximum melting capacity for each induction furnace model. Each melting cycle takes approximately 50-60 minutes for a cold furnace and 20-30 minutes for a hot furnace.
